MCP is delighted to announce the Manhattan Orchestral Institute, June 11-15, 2010 in New York City. The Manhattan Orchestral Institute is designed to unite talented young musicians from across the United States for 5 days of study and rehearsal in New York City as they pursue heightened levels of individual and ensemble performance skill. The Institute will culminate in a performance in New York's legendary Carnegie Hall.
The Manhattan Orchestral Institute is open to 16-20 year old string, woodwind and brass players by audition only. Interested participants must submit an Application Form and Audition CD and will be accepted on an individual basis. Audition materials must be received by February 15, 2010 for consideration.
Accepted musicians will play in the Institute orchestra under the direction of renowned Maestro Shinik Hahm, conductor of Yale University's premiere Philharmonia Orchestra, the orchestra of the Yale School of Music. Additionally, Institute musicians will participate in master classes and sectionals led by some of New York's most respected orchestral musicians.
