The musicians of the New York City Chamber Orchestra have performed at Carnegie Hall,
Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, on Broadway, and have
toured throughout the United States and abroad in Asia and Europe. In addition to
busy performance schedules, they also enjoy studio recording for major motion pictures
and recording labels including Sony, EMI BMG, Warner, Universal, Decca, Atlantic, and Telarc.
The New York City Chamber Orchestra is in its 12th season as MCP’s resident orchestra of
professional musicians who accompany our Masterworks Series and make occasional appearances
as a solo ensemble under the direction of artistic director Craig Arnold and concertmaster
Jorge Ávila. Its members are among the finest musicians in New York today who also play
with a variety of prestigious ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan
Opera, New York City Opera, American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, American Symphony
Orchestra, New York Pops, Philadelphia Orchestra, and New Jersey Symphony.
