In order to maintain high standards of performance at Manhattan Concert Productions festivals,
each ensemble is asked to qualify for participation.
(This does NOT include Band & Orchestra Festival, NYC Jazz Festival or the EXCEL Concert Choir Showcase)
Ensembles must qualify for participation
by any ONE of the following means:
- Submit a recent recording (in the last year) of a performance of their ensemble. This does not have to be a professional recording. Preference is CD, but may be cassette tape. Some directors may choose to send a recording by email, as well.
- Recommendation from the guest conductor of the festival in which they are interested
- Recommendation from a MCP-known conductor
- Superior rating at a sanctioned regional or state festival/contest
- Acceptable previous participation in an MCP festival
